Honorary Fellow Professor Brian Judd
We received the sad news this week that our Honorary Fellow Professor Brian Judd (Physics, 1949) passed away on 8 April 2023. We offer sincere condolences to his family and friends on behalf of the Brasenose community.
Professor Judd was also a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
Honorary Fellow Professor Robert O'Neill
We are very saddened to learn that our Honorary Fellow Professor Robert O'Neill (PPE, 1961) passed away on April 19, 2023, in Katoomba, New South Wales. We offer sincere condolences to his family and friends on behalf of the Brasenose community.
2023 Frankland Visitor - Jo Baring
We are delighted to announce that Jo Baring (Modern History, 1996) will be our 2023 Frankland Visitor.
A range of events are being prepared events with students in Arts Week (3rd Week) and throughout the year including a project to re-hang the Ingram Collection in the Amersi Room, an alumni event, and a Principal’s Conversations in Michaelmas Term.

A generous gift from the Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research has enabled the creation of a new Chair in Molecular Immunology at the University of Oxford; we are pleased to be able to announce that Professor Michael Dustin has been appointed as the Kennedy Trust Chair in Molecular Immunology, and will be a professorial fellow of Brasenose College.

The Giving Day is a digital campaign that seeks to celebrate the impact donations have on college and to encourage alumni to join our wonderful community of donors. Emeritus Fellow Dr Simon Altmann - Funeral Service and Tributes
We are very sad to announce that Emeritus Fellow Dr Simon Altmann passed away at the age of 98 on 29 September 2022. He died peacefully with his family.
Simon had been Tutor in Mathematical Physics 1964-1991 and then Vice Principal 1989-1990, becoming an Emeritus Fellow of the College in 1991. He will be much missed by the College community.
His funeral service was in Brasenose College Chapel on Monday 31 October at 1:45pm.
