Faced with the prospect of a three-month-long vacation at the end of second year, I wanted to do something productive with my summer.

As a college, Brasenose is very invested in access for students from all backgrounds; and one of the best ways for us to students thinking about Brasenose (and Oxbridge in general) is by touring schools in our outreach areas.

It is with great sadness that we report that alumnus and Honorary Fellow Sir David Akers Jones (English, 1949) passed away on Monday in hospital. 

Chemistry is a practical science, so like any other skill or technique, practice is the only way to get good at the practical side to my degree.

The next undergraduate Open Day at Brasenose College will be Friday 20th September.

Earlier this month Brasenose College held our graduation event, when students who have recently completed their courses return to Oxford to celebrate the end of their studies, along with their families and other guests.

I’m in my fourth year at Brasenose College, studying for a master’s degree in mathematical and theoretical physics, known as the MMathPhys.

The College is deeply saddened to announce the death of John Gardner, Fellow and Tutor in Law from 1991 to 1996.

Over the Easter holiday, Angharad (2^nd Year Biology & Access Rep), Joe Organ (Schools Liaison Officer) and myself, along with Maddy (1^st Year Languages), Alicia (3^rd Year Chemical Engineering) and Kathryn (School Liaison Officer) from St Catharine's College, Cambridge; went around North Yorkshire state schools encouraging students to apply to Oxbridge.

On Monday 27^th May, Dr Leal and I were very kindly invited by Brasenose College student Abdullah Khalil to share in the Iftar at the Oxford University Islamic Society’s dedicated prayer room in the Robert Hooke building.

Every year on Shrove Tuesday Brasenose staff and students partake in a very peculiar tradition known as ‘Ale Verses’.

I am currently in my fourth year studying Chemistry at Brasenose College, Oxford, the part of the Chemistry degree known as ‘Part II’. Unlike the first three years of my degree, this year has no exams, tutorials or coursework.
