NHS 999 in a medical emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

An A&E department (also known as emergency department or casualty) deals with genuine life-threatening emergencies such as extreme breathing difficulties and severe injuries. A&E is not an alternative to a GP appointment.

Less severe injuries can be treated in urgent care centres or minor injuries units.

Student Routine Health

Brasenose students can access the College Nurse and the College GP for routine medical support.

College Nurse

The College Nursecan help with a wide variety of personal medical issues (physical and mental health) and signposts to wider health and wellbeing resources in Oxford. She can make medical referrals to the GP, often getting you an appointment on the same day. She’s available to discuss any problem, big or small.

College Doctor

College requires all students to register under the NHS (or make a private arrangement) with the College Doctors at The Jericho Health Centre, New Radcliffe House, Walton Street, Oxford, OX2 6NW.
