When I’m not working I…
...Enjoy playing several sports - hockey, netball, tennis, running, at a variety of levels. I have also learnt to row and play lacrosse whilst at Oxford.
I enjoy playing the double bass with the OUPhil Orchestra. I attend events and talks at the Oxford Union and watch various student productions.
I also like to go to crew dates, drinks events, balls and dancing at ‘Bridge’ (the height of Oxford clubbing….).
What made you choose to study at Brasenose and/or Oxford?
I chose Brasenose for its central location and the chance of three years accommodation provided by college.
Is life in Oxford different to what you expected it to be?
It is better! The close knit community of Brasenose has enabled me to make many friends within the college, whilst I have also made friends outside of college. I have enjoyed a variety of opportunities within my degree course as well as in many extra circular activities.
What do you like most about studying in Brasenose?
I enjoy the tutorial system which enables you question and challenge your knowledge more deeply in small groups.
A quality you think is important for someone looking to study at Oxford?
It is important to be passionate about your subject, questioning and motivated . It is also beneficial to think ‘outside the box’ and challenge yourself.
What are the perks of your degree?
A perk of studying Geography are the local and foreign field trips as well as the breadth and depth of courses taught by specialists which sharpen a wide skill set.
Generally there is the chance to access to all that Oxford has to offer!
